Mommy's Perfect Present
For Arianna
Today I picked mommy a flower. She smiled and took it from me. But
inside that pretty blossom Was a fat ‘ole bumblebee. Mommy screamed!
Today I brought mommy a worm. I
found it when I played in the sand. I asked her to close her eyes And I placed it in her hand. Mommy shrieked!
Today
I found mommy a snake. It was long and shiny and brown. I don’t really think that she liked it Cause she threw
it on the ground. Mommy fainted!
Today I sat on the sidewalk And stared at my scraped up knees. I wrinkled
my face and I wondered Why mommy was so hard to please.
Today I was about to give up Then I knew what would give
her a lift. I ran in the house and gave her a kiss I had at last found the perfect gift. Mommy smiled!

The Greatest
Beauty
A monarch unfurls her fiery wings Illuminated by dawn’s radiance. Tiny droplets Of
sweetness Adorn emerald foliage In this new morn. Pastel petals part Stretching upwards To the rising sun. A
fragrance so stirring. These splendors are sweet In their own special way. Their brilliance pales However. Nothing
can compare To the greatest Beauty of all. For her eyes Are the sunshine. Her words, The gentle breeze. Her
voice, A lark’s melody. And her love…. A mother’s love Is unconditional, Unwavering, And
forever.
